Description: |
In this session, Peter Ford and Meghan Leemon will discuss with participants the importance of having a well-shaped bidding strategy that includes joint venturing and participating in SBA’s All Small Mentor-Protégé Program. The topics covered are SBA’s rules for joint ventures; the advantages/disadvantages of joint venturing in the federal arena; the eligibility requirements for the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program; and the benefits the program has to offer. In addition, the session will touch on looming changes to the joint venture rules and the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program, such as consolidating the 8(a) Mentor-Protégé Program with the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program, eliminating SBA approval of 8(a) joint ventures for competitive contracts, and relaxing the requirement that a protégé can have only two mentors in its lifetime. |
