Small Business Innovation Research Program and Small Business Technology Transfer Program Policy Directive: Correction
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is correcting a notice that appeared in the Federal Register on April 3, 2023. SBA is amending the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs Policy Directive to incorporate a template for agencies participating in the SBIR or STTR programs to request the disclosure of statutorily required information from SBIR or STTR applicants. These revisions to the SBIR / STTR Policy Directive take effect on May 3, 2023, without further action, unless significant adverse comment is received by May 3, 2023. If significant adverse comment is received, SBA will publish a timely withdrawal of the notice in the Federal Register. Read more here.
Affiliation and Lending Criteria for the SBA Business Loan Programs: Correction
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is correcting a final rule that appeared in the Federal Register on April 10, 2023. The final rule amended various regulations governing SBA’s 7(a) Loan Program and 504 Loan Program, including regulations on use of proceeds for partial changes of ownership, lending criteria, loan conditions, reconsiderations, and affiliation standards, to expand access to capital to small businesses and drive economic recovery. This correction is effective May 11, 2023. Read more here.
Surety Bond Guarantee Program: Removing Obsolete Forms
The Small Business Administration (SBA) issued a direct final rule to remove references to SBA Form 990A in the regulations of the Surety Bond Guarantee Program. SBA Form 990A is obsolete and has been discontinued. This rule is effective June 20, 2023, without further action, unless significant adverse comment is received by May 22, 2023. If significant adverse comment is received, SBA will publish a timely withdrawal of the rule in the Federal Register. Read more here.
